Her words are never not spoken
Not screamed nor quietly whispered
Her sentences choke, for her mind became so broken.
I looked across the table,
outside the shattered window.
The children were dancing and running after the other.
Then I lost track.
My senses were lost, and my eyes were soon to smother.
A simple word and a lost catch of air,
screamed in a whisper from across the room.
I came to her stance where she was playing with her hair.
She pulled me to the other side of what no one knew was.
She screamed her broken whisper,
and took hold of my trembling hand.
We came back to where the others lost,
I turned and gave her a glance, telling her where to land.
Their bodies drew back,
as we sprinted to the door.
I grabbed her fingers and we never stopped running
Until they never wanted us
anymore.
